Guerrilla Photo Group

Elizabeth Bathroy shoot at GPG
Every Wednesday night I attend a local Art Experience called Guerrilla Photo Group in a photography studio in downtown Albuquerque.  From 5pm to midnight we create some of the most interesting art in the southwest.

Photographers, models, makeup artists, stylists, and art directors gather together and randomly photograph scenes. On any given week you will find vampires and zombies, fashion models and dancers, monsters and aliens, or pregnant woman and families all there for the sole purpose of making interesting photographs.

This blog is to document my progress through this world as an Art Director in GPG.

BTS - Bathory shoot for "Dark Arts" MUA: Janine Maloney, rope and rigging: Rip Williams, art direction: Cassandra Porter, rigging and torturing Emily Elnora-Music assistance: John Marion Carrillo and Justin Cumley.

  1. 1. The photo group sounds very interesting. The picture provided gives a very intriguing peek into what these photo shoots are. Some things I would like more information on is what do you do exactly? Are you there simply because it is interesting to you and you are part of the photos or do you work there and help others prep the shoots like it seems in the picture. Another thing I would like to know is what is done with the scenes that are shot? Are they put on display somewhere or do you have and art show for them or is it simply for the people to take home themselves. I would like to continue to follow this blog because it is very interesting and I would like to see more examples of the shoots like above.
